NuVasive Opens Facility in Ireland

The firms is opening the doors of its international operations center this month.

San Diego, Calif.-based spine company NuVasive Inc. is opening an international operations center in Waterford, ireland, this month.

The move is going to create up to 30 highly skilled jobs over the next two to three years, according to Irish technology news website Silicon Republic.

NuVasive already has started hiring for supply chain, customer service, accounting and IT positions, the website reported.

“We are thrilled to be located in Waterford with access to the strong local talent to support our international operations,” said NuVasive’s CEO Alex Lukianov about his company’s most recent site. “The support from everyone in Ireland has been fantastic and we are excited to grow our presence in the area and improve our international business.”

NuVasive develops minimally invasive spinal products.

“Unique product development by NuVasive has revolutionised spine surgery and recovery timelines. Their decision to locate a new operations centre in Waterford represents a very positive result for the community,” said Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, which provided support for the investment.

According to O’Leary, NuVasive joins nine of the top 10 global medtech companies with a base in Ireland.
